The Word Hawqala

This is a shortening of a phrase in Arabic is done if it was heard (had a precedent) from the early Arabs. It is realized by extracting a few letters from a word and forming a new one.

For example Hasnain from the names Hasan and Hussain. Therefore Hawqala is created from the phrase ‘La Hawla Wala Quwwata Illa Billah’

The Divine Connection & Mystery Behind of La Hawla Wala Quwwata Illa Billah

Let us understand the meaning of this word by breaking down this phrase.

The meaning of ‘Hawl’ is movement, while the meaning of Quwwah is strength. Thus the meaning of this statement is that there is no movement from one state to another, and neither any strength for the slave to perform any of his affairs, except by ALLAH.

I read in the books of scholars that this phrase is one of the most loved phrases by the angels of ALLAH The Majestic. A group of angels who perform only such remembrance. For mankind, it is known as ‘Zikrul Anfas’. Which means the breath that is in remembrance of ALLAH Subhanahu Wata ‘Ala.

No matter how small the matter is, want to know why? because we are ‘La Hawla Wala’. Meant literally for us that ‘we have no power’. The bitter truth for us is that we don’t possess the power to even blink our eyes or move our hands. Except through the Qudrat of ALLAH The Exalted.
