From the Sunnah 0f Prophet Muhammad (SAW)Part 2

16- Not to leave food when it falls, as people are accustomed to do. The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “When any one of you drops food he should pick it up and remove any of the filth on it, and then eat it, and should not leave it for Satan, and should not wipe his hand with towel until he has licked his fingers, for he does not know in what portion of the food the blessing lies” [Reported by Muslim].

As for what people say about having the food licked or partially eaten by the Satan at its fall; it has no origin.
17- To say when being afflicted with a catastrophe: “All praise is due to Allah in all affairs”, as the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) used to say [Reported by Ibn Maja and declared good by Al-Albani].

Transliteration: Al Hamdu Lilah ‘Ala Kuli Hal.

As for some people’s saying: “All praise is due to Allah Whom none is praised for misfortune but Him”, it is proof for having little or imperfect patience, as it is mentioned by Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Uthaimin in his explanation to Riyadh As-Salihin Book Vol. 1.

18- To rest the animal when slaughtering it: The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah has enjoined perfection in everything; therefore, when you kill you should do it perfectly, and when you slaughter you should do it perfectly, and you should sharpen your knife and rest your sacrifice (slaughtered animal)” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah, and declared authentic by Al-Albani].

19- To seek refuge with Allah from four things, after the last Tashahud: The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “When anyone of you ends the last Tashahud he should seek refuge with Allah from four: Hellfire’s torture, grave’s torture, affliction of life and death and affliction of Al-Maseih Ad-Dajjal (i.e. the Antichrist).” [Reported by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah and declared authentic by Al-Albani].

« 20- To say after ending Witr prayer: “Glorified is the King the Holy” three times and raise your voice and lengthen it on the third time. [Reported by An-Nasa’i and declared authentic by Al-Albani]

Transliteration: Subhan Al-Malik Al-Qudoos

21- To say when the wind blows: “O Allah, I ask you its good and the good that it contains and the good that it is sent with, and I seek refuge with You from its evil and the evil that it contains and the evil that it is sent with.” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi and declared authentic by Al-Albani]

Transliteration: Allahuma Ini ‘As’aluka Khairaha Wa Khaira Ma Feeha Wa Khair Ma Ursilat Bih, Wa ‘A’uthu Bika Min Shariha Wa Shari Ma Feeha Wa Shari Ma Ursilat Bih.

22- To say at hearing the crow of a rooster: “O Allah, I ask you from Your grace.”

Transliteration: Allahuma Ini ‘As’aluka Min Fadlik

The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “When you hear the (crowing of) roosters, ask Allah from His grace, because they saw an angel …” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi and declared authentic by Al-Albani]

23- To say at entering the market: “There is no God except Allah Alone, with no associate. His is the dominion, to Him is praise, and He gives life and death, while He is ever alive and does not die, In His Hands lies every good, and He is over everything omnipotent.” [Reported by Ibn Majah and declared good by Al-Albani]

Transliteration: 'La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahu al-mulk wa lahu al-hamd, Yuhee Wa Yumeet Wa Huwa Hayun La Yamut,Byadihi Al-Khayr, wa huwa `ala kulli shay'in qadir

24- To say at rainfall: “O Allah (make it) beneficial rain.” [Declared authentic by Al-Albani]

Transliteration: Allahuma Sayiban Nafi’an

25- To say after rainfall: “We’ve been rained by the grace and mercy of Allah.” [Declared authentic by Al-Albani]

Transliteration: Muttirna Bi Fadli Lahi Wa Rahamatih

26- To say at the prostration of reciting the Holy Quran: “My face fell in prostration before He who created it and brought forth its faculties of hearing and seeing by His might and power. So Blessed is Allah, the best of creators...” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi and declared authentic by Al-Albani]

Transliteration: Sajada Wahi Lilathi Khalaqah, Wa Shaqa Sam’ahu Wa Basarah, Bihawlihi Wa Quwatih Fatabarak Allahu Ahsanul Khalqeen.

27- To say at hearing thunder: “Glorified is the One Whom thunder glorifies by praising, and the angels because of His fear (their fear of Him)” ]Declared authentic by Al-Albani].

Transliteration: Subhan Al-Lathi Yusabih Ar-Ra’du Bi Hamdih Wal Mala’ikatu Min Khefatih.

Abdullah Ibn Az-Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) used to leave the Hadeeth and say it whenever he heard thunder [Muwatta Imam Malik. Al-Albani said that its chain of transmission is authentic as untraceable]

28- To say before having sexual intercourse with the wife: “In the name of Allah, O Allah, set Satan away from us and set him away from whatever You have provided us.” [Reported by Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi]

Transliteration: Bismillah, Allahuma Janibana Al-Shayatan Wa Janabil Shaytan Ma Razaqtana.

29- At yawn, try to stop it (i.e. yawning) as possible as you can: It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Yawn is from the Satan; therefore, when one of you yawn he should prevent it as much possible as he can, because when one of you says ‘Haaa’ Satan laughs at him.” [Declared authentic by Al-Albani]

30- Seeking refuge with Allah when hearing barking of a dog or braying of donkey: The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If you heard the barking of dogs and braying of donkeys at night, you should seek refuge with Allah from Satan, because they see what you do not see.” [Declared authentic by Al-Albani]

31- To say when praying for guidance (Istkhara): On the authority of Jabir Ibn ‘Abdullah he said: “The Prophet, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, would instruct us to pray for guidance in all of our concerns, just as he would teach us a chapter from the Qur’an. He, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, would say ‘if any of you intends to undertake a mater then let him pray two supererogatory Rak’as of prayer and after which he should supplicate: ‘O Allah, I seek Your counsel by Your knowledge and by Your power I seek strength and I ask You from Your immense favour, for verily You are able while I am not and verily You know while I do not and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know this affair -and here he mentions his need- to be good for me in relation to my religion, my life, and end, then decree and facilitate it for me, and bless me with it, and if You know this affair to be ill for me towards my religion, my life, and end, then dismiss it from me and dismiss me from it, and decree for me what is good wherever it be and make me satisfied with such.’” [Reported by Al-Bukhari]

Transliteration: 'Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi'ilmika, Wa astaqdiruka bi-qudratika, Wa as'alaka min fadlika al-'athiem Fa-innaka taqdiru Wala aqdiru, Wa ta'lamu Wala a'lamu, Wa anta 'allamu l-ghuyub. Waqdir li al-khaira haithu kana Thumma ardini bihi.'

And prayers of Allah be upon our prophet, Muhammad, and all his family and companions.
