Recipe for a Blissful Marriage

Assalamo alykum wa Rehmatullahe wa Barakaatuh

Recipe for a Blissful Marriage

INGREDIENTS:

  • Piety (obedience and fear of Allah).Mubarak Sunnah of Nabi Muhammad (Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam),Love,Loyalty,Understanding,Friendliness,Contentedness,Forbearance,Intimacy,Affection
  • Smiles,Compliments,Salaams,Warm Welcomes,Humour,Gifts,Pleasant Surprises, Forgiveness ,Fragrances
  • Last, but not least, Zikr of Allah, Durood, Du’as and Sadaqah

DIRECTIONS

To the combination of piety (obedience and fear of Allah) and Sunnah, add a lavish amount of love blended together with loyalty.

Stir the mixture well with a spoon of understanding and friendliness.

To attain the maximum flavour from your dish, season it well with contentedness and forbearance.

Heat the mixture gently with the warmth of intimacy and affection. Remember, this heating has to be consistent. Never let this dish cool down.

Keep on adding constantly to the dish a mixture of smiles, compliments, Salaams and warm welcomes, all blended with sincerity and trustworthiness.

To make the dish even more spicy, add humour to it (within the limits of the Shariah).

Sprinkle the dish with a mixture of occasional gifts and some pleasant surprises.

Garnish it with forgiveness.

This dish has to be prepared by both, the husband as well as the wife, and also, it has to be served and devoured in each other’s sweet company.

To retain the freshness of the dish put on sweet fragrances. This would also make your married life even more sparkling and tempting.

While the dish is being prepared do not forget a few very special ingredients: Zikr of Allah, plus Durood on Nabi Muhammad Sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam and Istighfar and also constant Du’as. Without Allah’s Help and Mercy no true success can be achieved. Also, remember to give Sadaqah on a regular basis to have Barakah in your married life.

INGREDIENTS TO BE AVOIDED

A number of spouses add some unworthy ingredients that make the dish bland, tasteless, bitter or stale. Some of these ingredients are anger, shouting, unkind words, swearing and sarcasm.

The ingredients like spending most of your free times with your friends, pornography addiction and infidelity can bring the dish to the very brink of being totally unpalatable.

The most toxic ingredients, however, are:

a. The husband's utterance of the word 'Talaq'.

b. The wife's demand for a 'Khul'a'.

As much as possible try to avoid the use of these ingredients.

A Couple of Ahadith

For the husband

Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “The most perfect amongst the believers in faith is the one who has the best manners; and best of you are those who are best to their wives.” (Musnad Ahmad)

For the wife

Sayyidatuna Ummu Salamah Radhiyallahu ‘Anha says that Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “A woman who dies when her husband is pleased with her, will enter Jannāh.” (Tirmidhi)

Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.
