Let’s Pray to Allah Asking for His Protection

Assalamo Alykum WA Rehmatullahe WA Barakaatuh

Let’s Pray to Allah Asking for His Protection

Allah has granted us life and we all have a duty to protect ourselves from harm in a manner that Allah has commanded us.

We also have a duty to do what we can to protect those who we are responsible for from our families, friends, and neighbors.

Wherever and whenever possible, we ought to advise others too about making the right choices to help them help themselves.

But the most important thing we can do is to pray and make a Dua (supplication) for ourselves and for everyone else.

By this we mean, we must take the time (minutes and hours if needed) to focus our attention toward Allah and to ask for His help and protection.

Allah reminds us in the Quran:

“…But Allah is the best protector (guardian), and He is the most merciful of the merciful.” (Surah Yousuf, verse 64)

We need to ask Allah to protect us, our families, friends, neighbors, and everyone else from this disease that has descended on this earth.

We don’t know whether this is a test or a punishment from Allah. Regardless, we should ask for His Mercy as whatever the reason for this hardship, only Allah’s mercy can relieve us from this predicament.

In our Du’as, let’s show Allah our sincerity by putting in the time to remember Him. Let’s give charity and Sadaqah as that is known to ward off one’s life’s challenges. Let’s commit to take His commands seriously and not dismiss them. Let’s mend ourselves to bring Allah and His worship in our lives until our last day in this world.

This disease is not differentiating between any race, religion, age group, or citizenship. We don’t know who’s got how long to live. Let’s repent and return to Allah in ways that He wanted His creation to be!

“O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins…” (Surah At-Tahrim (Chapter 66), verse 8)
